Sarah hadn’t been prepared for Eve’s launch so she tumbled to the ground when her best friend connected with her body. The two girls rolled on the ground, each trying to get the upper hand.
Sarah was doing her best to dodge the blows that Eve was throwing. She was too out of breath to continue trying to talk her best friend down from the homicidal ledge she was on.
Michael heard the commotion behind him and glanced back. He saw Sarah and Eve rolling around on the alley floor, both girls trying to come out on top.
Some of what Eve was saying began to filter in, “You two-faced, back-stabbing fake. You come off as this goody two shoes, never do anything wrong, but what you really are is a home-wrecker. Tell me, did you enjoy being the other woman?”
Sarah grunted as a punch landed in her solar plexus. Michael looked back at the foul creature he’d been squaring off with and saw surprised in his eyes. It seemed that Eve had surprised them both.
