Eve felt like Michael had punched her in the gut when he asked if he could talk with Sarah. She’d thought that she had him, that he would definitely say yes to her. And now he wanted a minute to discuss things with her best friend? Had her suspicions about the two of them getting together behind her back a year ago been correct? Her anger at being jilted a year later and the thought of her best friend catting around with her boyfriend became palpable, “You need a minute to talk to Sarah? Really, Michael?! What could you possibly need to talk with Sarah about right now, when we’re trying to reconnect and are discussing our future together? We can be together FOREVER, Michael! In every sense of the word. And you want a minute to talk to Sarah?” Eve moved away from the two of them, stalking toward Fredrick, “Take your minute, Michael. But only a minute. Fredrick and I are on a timetable and I’ll be needing an answer, from both of you, within five minutes. You have no idea how much is at stake depending on your answers.”
Sarah watched as Eve stalked towards the monster she called Fredrick wondering what she meant by the two of them being on a timetable and just what could be at stake. She took Michael’s hand and the two of them moved a few feet away from Eve and her companion. “What do you want to talk about, Michael? You’ve already told me that you’re still trying to get over Eve and it seems that you don’t need to do that anymore because she’s standing right over there. It seemed to me that the two of you were getting along just fine,” Sarah huffed. She looked over Michael’s shoulder and saw Eve and the monster conspiring together. What could they possibly be discussing among themselves, Sarah wondered as she waited for Michael to answer her.
