Sarah couldn’t believe it! Michael had just told her to leave without him. Oh sure he’d added if that’s what she wanted but it still felt as if he’d punched her in the gut. Everything that she’d done for this man in the last year was swirling around the drain, ready to be flushed.
Sarah was usually an easy-going woman. She’d let a lot of things roll off her back instead of getting upset. But that night in the alley was the final straw. She’d had enough of being a pushover for Michael. In love with him or not she wasn’t going to allow him to treat her like second best any longer.
“Fine! You stay. Just know that without my agreement you’re going to die here and there’s nothing that your precious Eve will be able to do about it, “Sarah told Michael as she spun on her heel, fully intending on leaving Michael to his fate. But instead of seeing the entrance to the alley Sarah was met with Fredrick’s evil leer.
Fredrick blocked Sarah’s exit and looked over her should at Eve, “You know what you have to do, my sweet. One of them said no.”
Sarah heard Eve’s gasp from behind her and knew that her intuition of how this night would end had been correct.
“No, Fredrick! Michael is completely willing!” Eve pleaded as Fredrick stalked around Sarah.
He clicked his tongue, “Tut, tut. Eve, these are the rules. Sarah said no and since you couldn’t be bothered to wait until Michael was alone you lose him. It’s really a simple matter and I did tell you that you were concentrating on the wrong part of this duo. Consider this your last lesson before you begin to fly solo, always listen to the boss.”
