Solitary witch Meghan Nightshade is torn between hiding inside her self-made company in Atlanta and returning to stay in her hometown of Salem. One represents new beginnings, and the other her past. When an illness forces her to return to Salem for a short time, she realizes there are forgotten memories among the magic and nothing was the same as she remembered. Between preparing for the upcoming Halloween traditions and falling for the sexy Eathan Callaghan, Meghan is pulled back into the world of magic, covens, and witchcraft. Is she strong enough now to battle for the freedom of Eathan’s innocent sister, or will it cost her too much, and send her running back to the safety of Atlanta?

“I have a feeling not much surprises you, Eathan Callaghan.” Again, his earthy smell called to her. Her body trembled.
“That’s true. Living here for the past ten years has taught me a lot of things.” He squeezed her elbow. “Including the fact that there are many things that cannot, or rather, will not be explained through science. I’ve even had the honor of exploring Nathaniel’s House of the Seven Gables alone. The proprietor owed me a favor. It was…interesting.”
Meghan paused and stared at him. “You believe in magic and ghosts and such?”
“Of course I do. You can’t live in Salem and not believe there’s something different out there.” He grinned. “I’ve taken Karen to lunch at Pickering Wharf more than once.”

I live outside of Atlanta, GA. When not working my day job, I am either working on a manuscript, or furiously jotting notes for future stories. If time permits, I spend time with my daughter, twin sister and two cats and two dogs. Two years I fulfilled a life long dream of travelling to England. My sister and daughter joined me and we spent one week in London and one week in Scotland. I loved it so much! One day, I'll be going back. My son returned home after serving four years with the United States Marines. I missed him and am happily spending time together. A few years ago, I was invited to guest blog about my adventures with two great writers. It was so much fun, thatI have created a blog for this site and am working on filling it.

Nick shrugged off his coat and worked open the buttons on Luke’s waistcoat. Neither man gentle, or patient with the other. Luke tore open his coat, the last button flying off.
Nicholas attempted to save his clothes from the same fate by falling to his knees. He freed Luke, stroking him while licking his own lips.
“Do you suck like a girl?” Luke asked, his fingers curling in Nicholas’ blond hair to hold his head steady. Luke rocked his hips, thrusting into Nick’s mouth.
Nick sighed at that first taste; male musk, and something else—something distinctly Luke flooded his taste buds. Tonight, he took his time, sharing the pleasure. It reached a deep, haunting ache inside him. He rolled his tongue over Luke and opened his throat to the other man’s thrusts.
Luke pulled out quickly, stopping his climax. “I want more,” he declared, pulling Nick to his feet. Luke’s fingers fumbled with the remaining buttons of Nick’s fly.
The door opened and both men turned to find the lady of the house, and her maid, standing in the doorway. The lady’s eyes brightened. “Well, it seems we’ve arrived just in time. Undress me, Lilian.” The maid set to work unpinning the woman’s curls and removing her dress.
“Don’t mind Beatrice,” Luke said, releasing Nick’s pants. “She likes to watch.”

Five favorites:

Favorite Magical Creature/being: Dragons. It's always going to be dragons.
Favorite Book: Passage by Connie Willis (this changes almost daily).
Favorite Holiday: Thanksgiving. It's all about family and food for me, what could be better?
Favorite Sport: Pretty much anything Equestrian. For watching, nothing can be quite as exciting as Eventing. As far as participating... I'm not quite that brave. I do enjoy riding, though.
Favorite Fairy Tale: Beauty and the Beast. I love that it has historical origins in truth. And it's just a lovely idea, all around.

Witness to her own mother's murder, Lena Scott long ago gave up any hope that she would be able to lead a normal, healthy life. She also thought that she'd left Salem, and that night, behind. She was never going to look back. But, looking back may be the key to more than just that mysterious Halloween night. And her home, her life, and even her work at the Salem Cafe are more intertwined than she ever imagined.

And the past is full of more secrets than Lena could ever have imagined. Everything she believed about herself, everything she knew about herself… all of that comes into question on yet another dark, Salem Halloween night.

As often happened, when the world felt a little festive, Lena felt more alone than usual. She was an outsider to the laughter and teasing that marked off the hours among the rest of the staff. Oh, she smiled, and she even spoke a few times, but it was always with a sense that she didn’t belong.
She never had quite fit.
Her required break was punctuated by a mug of the best hot chocolate in the world—the menu even said so—and a thin slice of apple pie.
It was a risky move. Apple pie always made her think about Gran. Lena closed her eyes against the warmth of cinnamon, cooled by the gentle kiss of vanilla from the ice cream Luisa made in the big machine in the back. There was nothing fancy about it—no frills at all.
But it was perfect.
Lena put her fork down after one bite. A second one, she thought, could never be as good as that first taste.
It was starting to get late. Fewer customers came through the door, despite the well-lit sign saying that they’d be open all night for Halloween.
“It’s starting to really come down out there,” a man told her, as she handed him and his wife their menus.
“Oh,” she said, surprised. “I didn’t even realize that it was snowing.”
“If it was raining, I’d say it was raining cats and dogs,” the woman said with a laugh. “I don’t know what you say for that kind of snow.”
“Falling like goose down,” Lena heard her own voice say. The words startled her. She couldn’t remember having heard them before, and yet, she had a feeling that they were just right.
“Charming,” the woman said, widening her eyes. “What a lovely image.”
Obviously the woman had never met geese, Lena thought wryly. In her limited experience, they were rarely lovely.
She did take the time, though, to stand at the door and watch the snow fall. It really was coming down, in great, fluffy flakes.
Lena laughed softly. It really did look like feathers falling out of the sky.
“Look at that,” Martin said, turned in his seat to watch the snow come down. “That’s a real treat for Halloween—or is Old Mother Nature playing some tricks on us all?” He laughed. “Weather like this always gets the ghosts thumping around, doesn’t it, Luisa?” He turned his head towards where she stood, silent for once.
“You hush,” she said.
“Don’t pretend that you’ve never seen him,” Martin teased. “You and I both know that you did. You can’t deny it.”
“Saw who?” Lena asked, despite the frisson of goosebumps crawling spider-like up her back.
Martin blinked at her in surprise. “I keep forgetting that you didn’t grow up around these parts.”
“Stuff and nonsense,” Luisa huffed. “Lena doesn’t want to listen to your ghost stories.”
“We do.” The woman and her husband looked to Martin with eager expression. “It’s the perfect weather for a ghost story. Is it a local ghost?”
“He lives about half a block down, that way,” Martin waved his hand absently. “But, you can see him walking down the street, sometimes at night. Especially when it has been snowing. You know he’s a ghost because he’s dressed in stockings and breeches—and a three-cornered hat—you know, the kind men wore in the early eighteenth century.”
“So, a ghost unrelated to the witch trials?” The woman sounded almost disappointed.
Martin laughed. “Everything around here ends up pointing to the witch trials, one way or another. Some people say that this man had an ancestor that had been cursed by one of the witches. Others say that he was descended from a witch. One this is very sure, though—he was terribly unlucky in love.”
The woman made a sighing sound. Lena made a face to herself. She’d never understood what was romantic about tragedy. Despite herself, she wanted to listen to this story. Ignoring, of course, the fact that Martin had waved his hand in the direction of her own, historical monument of a house.
“This used to be the outskirts of town,” Martin said, warming to his story. His face was lit up with excitement that, for once, he had an audience that wanted to hear what he had to say. “Our ghost was a prosperous man in these parts, and known to be a quiet gentleman. He kept to himself, so of course there were gossips who said that he was surly and thought too well of himself. That he was too proud to marry a local girl.”
How could Martin possibly know such a thing? Lena wondered, but she gave in to the magic of the story-telling.
“The stories agree that he was a handsome man. You thought he was handsome, when you saw him, didn’t you, Luisa?”
The chef made a huffing sound, but made no move to go back to the kitchen.
“So, he was handsome and wealthy, and could have married any girl in these parts just for the asking, but he never seemed interested in any of them. Not until a girl showed up at his door, shivering with the cold on a night just like this.” Martin knew he had his listeners hooked now. He spoke softly, forcing them to lean closer and hold their breaths to be able to hear. “No one knew anything about her. Not who her people were, not where she had come from. It was love at first sight, they say. He built up his house as a kind of shrine to her, and to their love. They married and gossip said that they were expecting their first child. But, it wasn’t to last.”
Lena heard the woman at the table sigh again, this time regretfully. “What happened?”
“The girl disappeared,” Martin said. “The records don’t say how or why—they didn’t in those days, you know. But, the legend that my grandfather learned from his grandfather, and passed down to me, was that she ran away from him. No one ever saw her again.”
Gasps of sympathetic horror filled the room.
“He didn’t live long after she vanished,” Martin continued, ignoring the shocked faces surrounding his casual mention of murder. “It might have been an accident, but again it might have not. He was killed in a fall off of that big, proud stallion of his, while he was out searching for his lost love. That’s why he still walks to this day. They say that he’s looking for her still… unable to rest until he finds her again.”
Lena rubbed her icy fingers together. The chill had nothing to do with the snow outside and everything to do with the ghost story Martin was reciting.
“What was her name?” The woman asked, her hands clasped together. “What was his name?”
“His name was Edward Pryce,” Martin said. “As for the girl… the only name we have for her is ‘Mellie’.”

She’s not looking for anything serious, but when hot police officer, Adam asks her out, she can’t say no. A little fun never hurt anyone.

Single mom, Erin, has her hands full with her young son and working as an ER nurse. She’s not looking for anything serious, but when hot police officer, Adam asks her out, she can’t say no. A little fun never hurt anyone.

Adam doesn’t do long-term relationships. He’s seen more divorces than he can count. When an injury sends him to the ER, he finally asks out the cute nurse he’s been flirting with for months. Erin isn’t like the girls he takes out, she’s a breath of fresh air, but that doesn’t mean he’s going to fall for her.
Bethany Shaw lives in Ohio with her husband and two kids. Writing has always been her passion and she loves sharing her stories with readers. When she isn't writing, she is spending time with her family enjoying bike rides, bowling, and board games.

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity to talk about my new release 'On Call' and help my readers get to know me better.)

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
It took me about a month to write On Call. I came up with the name as I was writing it because Erin was always ‘on call’ when she agreed to go out with Adam.

Tell us something about yourself.
I live in Ohio with my husband and two kids.

Tell us about your writing process.
Before I start a story, I do a character write up where I get to know my characters better. What do they like to do? Their background, hair color, eye color, family traits, basically everything I need to bring them to life. Then I plot out the story chapter by chapter before I begin writing it.

What is your favourite genre to read?
Science Fiction Romance

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Aside from my family I’d say animal rights. I love animals and try to donate when possible to local animal shelters. All our pets (2 dogs, 2 cats) are rescues.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Spend time with my family. We love to go out for bike rides.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Erin’s a single mom struggling to get by when she and Adam begin to have a fling. She knows its not going to be anything serious, but he’s cute, has a good job, and can’t help falling for him even if it will break her heart in the end.

Where can readers connect with you?
“And I thought you invited me out because you wanted to get in my pants,” Erin said, her voice lowering to a whisper as she wagged her brows at him. Heat crept over her cheeks. I can’t believe I just said that out loud. God I sound desperate.

Adam chuckled. “I’m not opposed to that, but I don’t want to complicate things. I’m not looking for anything serious.”

Yeah, you already said that earlier. But...

She shifted in her seat as stared at her plate. He was giving her an easy out. They could keep things entirely platonic, but it had been a long time since she’d been with someone and if someone was going to burst her semi-recently single cherry she kind of wanted it to be Adam. “Who says it has to be complicated? I recently ended a long relationship, and I know you aren’t looking for anything serious. After all, we’re two consenting adults.”

Adam leaned forward. His sea-blue eyes sparkling as he met her gaze. “Too bad you have to go back to work in a bit.”

She licked her lips as her heart fluttered in her chest. So, he is interested. Good to know. “Too bad.”

Adam reached out and touched her hand, rubbing his thumb over her palm in a soft caress. “What time do you get off again?”

“Five in the morning.” She’d be more tired than hell by then and he wouldn’t want to wait up for her. It was probably better that she didn’t pursue this, even though she really wanted to.

“Yikes. I have to be at work tomorrow at 7.”

“Don’t you think you ought to take a day off?” She motioned to his forehead where the freshly sewn gash was. Even with his forehead split open he still managed to look stunning. “You took quite the hit to the head.”

“Nah. I’ll be fine. I have a high pain tolerance and I don’t like to be stuck lying around. I’d probably find myself in more trouble without something to do all day.”

She shook her head and took a sip of her drink. “If you say so.” Her eyes drifted to her wristwatch and she sighed. “I have to get back.” Sixty minutes wasn’t enough time.

Adam set his napkin on his empty plate. “I’ll walk you back.”

“You don’t have to.” Nor had she expected him to. The hospital was in a fairly good neighborhood, and she darted across the street a lot during her late night shifts.

“Are you kidding? It’s almost eleven. I’ll walk you back.”

She smiled at his thoughtfulness. “Thanks.”

Adam paid for the check and they left the diner. He took her hand in his and they walked hand in hand down the sidewalk.

“There’s a Fourth of July party at Ricardo's. What do you say we get together with Laney and Graham then?”

Fourth of July. That wasn’t too far away. “I don’t think I work that night, but I’ll have to double check. Why are you so intent on getting Laney and Graham together?”

“Graham’s in love with her. I just want to help them along.”

“You’re meddling? I thought you didn’t believe in marriage.”

“I guess, yeah, I am meddling. I don’t believe in marriage for myself, but Laney and Graham, I don’t know, if anyone deserves happiness it's them two.”

He had a point. Graham was a great guy from what she’d seen, and Laney deserved a man who would be attentive to her and her daughter. “I can get her there assuming we are both off.”

“Good. In the meantime, when can I take you out?” he asked.

Erin’s mind raced. Between work and finding a sitter for Caden there wasn’t much free time. “Um.”

     “When’s your next day off?”

She was off all day tomorrow, but she hadn’t seen Caden since dropping him off at daycare and she usually spent the afternoon and evening with him after pulling a double. There was no way she was telling Adam she had a kid. They weren’t getting serious and the news would likely scare him away. Men always seemed to run when they found out you were a single parent. She imagined it’d be the same thing in a no-strings attached relationship.

“Why don’t you give me your number and I’ll look at my calendar,” she said.

“You’re not trying to blow me off now are you?” he asked with a grin.

For Cortney, signing on the dotted line was a no brainer. All she had to do was agree to spend a month getting to know a phoenix shifter—if she was a suitable match—and her student loans were paid. With one in fifty thousand odds, it was a risk she was willing to take. She hadn’t counted on being that one in fifty thousand, or on Draven being so sexy. Resisting his charms wouldn’t be easy, but at the end of the month, she would walk away. Debt free.

When one of Draven’s young phoenixes ends up dead in a hospital emergency room, Draven has to act fast. Otherwise, human lives will go up in flames—literally. A rising phoenix isn’t harmful to their kind, but to humans it is deadly. But when a spitfire of a nurse steps in and refuses to let him through, his whole world changes. Any other day, nothing would have stopped him, but the longer she’s in his presence, the brighter her aura shines. She’s not only a suitable mate—she’s his.

Élianne Adams, is a self-proclaimed tropical climate Princess, so how she managed to be born and live in snowy Ontario, Canada is a complete mystery. She loves to read (and write) romances that lure you into different worlds, the kinds that suck you in until the very end. Her paranormal romance books feature sexy as sin fire breathing dragons, gryphons, phoenixes, and jaguars.

If those sexy Alpha shifters aren’t quite up your alley, she’s also got wolves coming soon.

Hi there, it’s such a pleasure to be here speaking with you today. Thank you for having me and letting me rattle on about my work.

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
My contribution to Coming in Hot is called Burn Deep. It’s a paranormal medical romance, and I had a blast writing it. I probably had a bit of an advantage with this one since my evil day job is in the health care field, so writing it only took me a little over a month. It was so much fun that I plan on making this one into a series.

Tell us something about yourself.
What can I say about myself that won’t bore you all to tears? Well, I live in a small-ish town in Northern Ontario with my husband (my very own real life hero, though he doesn’t sprout fur or scales when he’s angry) and children. We have three pets, two cats, and an elderly dog. Although this story is about phoenix shifters, I also write about wolves, large cats (coming next year), angels and demons, and of course, dragons! I adore dragons!

Tell us about your writing process.
One thing I cannot have while I’m writing is noise. I get distracted by the smallest thing. If someone is watching television in the same room, I tend to look up and watch (yes, even commercials – and I’ll admit, it annoys the heck out of me). I like to write in the mornings, but that’s not always possible. Especially during summer break, so I grab the time I need when I can get it. Funny thing that I finally figured out while writing Burn Deep was that when I get hung up on my story and the words don’t seem to want to come to me, if I grab spiral notebook and pen, the words flow again. And amazingly, my word count isn’t a whole lot slower on paper than it is on the keyboard. Of course, then I have to transcribe what I’ve written, but at least the small writer’s block has been avoided, and the story can continue.

What is your favourite genre to read?
That’s a tough question. I read just about anything. One of my favourite books of all time is The Diary of Anne Frank. I remember reading it in grade school, and for the first time in my life, the story the book told tugged on my heart strings. I can tell you that my love of reading developed after reading that story. Now, having said that, I will freely admit that I’m a romance reader through and through. I love all genres of romance. I adore paranormal romance and will always read those, but I also read sci-fi romance. A new favourite of mine is m/m romance. I never thought I’d enjoy it, but after reading a few exceptionally well written ones, I’m hooked!

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Outside of the writing world? My family. Hands down. My life revolves around my husband and children. Now if you’re talking about within the writing world, then I’d have to say it’s helping other authors get their books out there. I think the romance author’s world is amazing in this aspect. I have yet to meet (in person, or online) a romance author who wasn’t genuine and happy to help a fellow author out. I often work with other authors to promote and cross promote stories, and most of the time, it’s the reader who benefits with free reads and awesome gifts. J

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Boy, that’s a tough one. I’m always writing. Lol Honestly, life has been so busy over the past couple of years that I don’t honestly know how to answer that. Between doing renovations on our house in preparation for a big move (hopefully sooner rather than later), writing, and my evil day job, there is little time left in a day. Mind you, once we do move, I plan on making writing my full time career, so I’m really looking forward to that.

I can tell you the things I enjoy doing and wish I did more of. Other than the usual spending time with my family, I absolutely love being out in the woods. If I could have a cabin by a lake with all the things I’d need for survival, I’d be a happy camper.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books Asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Burn Deep is a super-hot phoenix shifter medical romance story.

Draven, the head of a phoenix shifter clan, goes into the hospital emergency room to remove one of his clan mates who has perished and will rise again in a blaze that will not only threaten to burn the building to the ground, but endanger human lives as well.

Cortney, a nurse, stands up to him and stops him from going in. This is where the story begins. When Cortney’s aura changes color, Draven knows she’s not only a suitable phoenix shifter mate—she’s his. After lifetimes alone, he’s thrilled to have found her and invokes the Phoenix Mates Acquisition Contract, which stipulates that a woman found to be a mate match must spend thirty days with the phoenix shifter to see if they are compatible.

Draven is determined to convince her to stay past the thirty days, and Cortney is just as resolved to return to her career once her time is up. But things are never that simple. Shifter mates are rare, and there are others out there who would do anything to get their hands on his mate. All Draven has to do is convince her that he’s worth sticking around for, and keep her safe.

Thank you so much for having me here today. It’s been a real pleasure working on this set with all these amazing authors. I can’t wait for it to be released to the world.
Cortney’s heart slammed against her ribs. The Alpha? Crap. Could things get any more intense? It wasn’t a regular phoenix her body had betrayed her for, no, it was the damned Alpha. Now all the phoenixes in the Odyssey would scrutinize her every move, and each word she said. Maybe she’d just hole up in his apartment, or cave, or wherever phoenixes lived, and not come out until her time was up. She snickered at the cave thing. Anyone who drove a car like that one, or that sweet looking bike, had to live somewhere better than a cave.

Before she could say anything else, Draven came up to her. “Ready? We’re taking the bike. Pretty boy here is too banged up to ride.”

“Can we get some of my things before we go? I’ll need some clothes and toiletries and stuff,” she asked him. Though for the life of her, she had no idea how the hell she would get a month’s supply of things in a bag small enough for her to carry on her back.

“We won’t be able to carry much with the bike, but we can grab what you need for right now, and I’ll bring you home to get more stuff tomorrow or the next day. Would that be alright?” he asked her, but there was no other option to be had.

“I could always just follow you in my car,” she suggested.

He immediately shook his head. “That wouldn’t be safe. They won’t recognize the vehicle.”

Cortney looked at Trista, who just shrugged. “Okay, so the bike it is.”

When they reached the vehicle, Draven handed her a helmet. “Have you ever ridden before? Do you need help with the helmet?”

“Not often, but yes, I’ve ridden before, and no, I don’t need help.” She sounded bitchy even to her own ears, but she couldn’t’ help it. Things were getting out of hand fast. She had the helmet secured over her head when he came close again and checked on the fit. He didn’t say a word as he pulled his own on and slipped the visor down.

Trista came over, her smile now gone. “You okay, Cort? You’re looking a little pale.”

She pulled Trista a few feet further from Draven. “No, not really. Have you seen how gorgeous he is? How the hell am I supposed to resist him? And now I have to have my body wrapped around him for God knows how long until we get there. What if that mate chemistry thing starts happening right away? Remember those articles we were reading last week? I’m going to be one of those women we were laughing about in those articles.”

Trista burst out laughing. “Dude, you have to chill. We’ll just take our vacation and come home. So you get to jump his bones while we’re there. If you ask me, that’s a mighty fine perk.”

A faint crackling sound came at her from the inside of the helmet. “It’s two and a half hours to the Odyssey,” Draven said, his voice, coming through the helmet, sounding way too much like laughter.

“Fuck my life,” she whispered under her breath as she glanced over, and sure enough, his shoulders were shaking. Not only did she have to hang on to him for two and a half hours, but now he knew she was worrying about it. Without even saying goodbye to Trista, she got on the bike. It was going to be a long month.
