Thank you for checking out the cover reveal for the upcoming release of YA Anthology Light in the Darkness!
Light in the Darkness
Being young is hard, especially with a rough home life. Not to mention if you have a special ability that sets you apart from others, leaving you feeling like an outsider, or the freak that no one understands. Living in the shadows doesn’t have to last forever. Only you can change the road you're on, just look within yourself and accept who you are. Once you do, you will find your Light in the Darkness.

Here is an excerpt from my story that has been included in this awesome antho!
Anticipating her
sister’s question she said, “Would you like to come with me?”
Nearly bursting
with excitement Elsa popped up from her seat, ran around the table and gave her
sister a fierce hug, “Oh, yes! Yes, yes, yes, yes! Can we leave now?”
Laughing at her
sister’s exuberance she replied, “Not yet, Elsa. We should eat the breakfast
Mom has worked so hard to cook for us. We have time; the shop doesn’t open for
another hour.”
Their mother was
laughing at them as Elsa returned to her seat and began eating her breakfast.
Then she gave Callie a look over her younger daughter’s head. Callie knew that
look.
It said, Make sure you don’t get anything trashy.
Remember you are MY daughter and I won’t have you wearing anything that will
make the boys think you are easy.
She shook her
head at her mom, she was aware of what her mother thought appropriate for her
girls to wear. It was one of the reasons she was invisible at school. She felt
the same way about some of the clothes the other girls wore but there were some
styles that weren’t as racy as what Jessica, Tiffany and Blair wore that Callie
wouldn’t mind wearing though she would never tell her mom that.
She had fought
with her mom for hours just to get permission to go the party so she would
respect her wishes to wear something appropriate. Her mother would have the
final say as to what Callie stepped out the door in anyway so she may as well
cut that fight off at the beginning.
Their mother
finally took her seat so that they could start eating breakfast. They ate in
silence, each lost in their own thoughts. Every once in a while Elsa would
squirm, showing Callie how impatient she was to be done with eating and out the
door. Callie’s amusement grew as she watched her little sister. If she had
known that Elsa would get this excited about doing such a mundane thing with
her she would have started inviting her to do things more often.
Having finished
their meal, Callie ran upstairs to get the money she had placed in her
nightstand drawer.
Coming back
down, she found Elsa standing by the front door bouncing on the balls of her
feet.
“Let’s go say
good-bye to mom then we can leave,” she said with a laugh.
