Joy wants two things from life--to be the best damn veterinarian possible, and to meet a Dom who can handle her deepest desires. The problem is finding a man who knows the difference between "no" and "make me."

When D. F. Krieger was banned from writing contests at her school, she immediately set it in her head that she would become a professional writer. Since then, she has thrown away her plans of world domination through books, but she still enjoys writing. By the time she pens her final book with a hand ravaged by age, she hopes to introduce her readers to many alternate worlds, lines of thinking, and captivating characters.

When she’s not writing, she can be found surrounded by rescue cats who call her, “Mom” while she’s cross-stitching, crocheting, painting, or playing video games. Her family loves that she plays video games, though they refuse to play first person shooter games against her anymore because she makes an awesome sniper.

You can find D. F. on the East Coast, hiding away from the real world with a gleam in her eye and a plot in her head. She resides with her husband, kids, and pets; who all kindly put up with her random bouts of laughter—over things she can’t explain—and journal collecting fetish.

Wanna keep an eye on D. F. online? You can find her at her website dfkrieger.com where she updates what she’s working on and occasionally posts to a blog.

Konnichiwa, Bon Jour, Aloha, Greetings, Salute…and I’m out of ways I know to say hello. Thank you so much for stopping by to let me prattle on about the awesome box set I’m in. Let me tell you, these authors are rocking it, and I’m not just saying that to toot my own horn. I hope you’ll enjoy my little contribution in this interview as much as I know you’ll enjoy Coming In Hot. Oh, and warning: Don’t drink things while reading this cause liquid out nose equals ouch.

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
Joy’s Edge came to me when I was writing the previous book in the series, Hope’s Edge. Joy, a veterinarian, is too spunky not to write about. Her story took me a little longer than I wanted because neither she, nor the hero, were willing to play as nicely as I planned. Then I realized, screw nicely. These two were meant to take off in a clash of sparks. So I let them have their way, and then they got around to really having their way and let’s just say I kinda felt more like a voyeur than an author sometimes.

Tell us something about yourself:
I came from a place of cows and cornfields in central US, and chance, strange love, and a random encounter that involved a Drow and a Rakshasa brought me to the East Coast. I’m now married to the Rakshasa, I didn’t kill him as planned, and I spend my days editing, writing, and raising our kids.

Tell us about your writing process:
There is no process. It’s sheer chaos in its truest form. I open a MS Word document, and then just kinda do the moving of the fingers and BLAM. Stuff and things cause rarrr, I am writer, hear me…type?

What is your favorite genre to read?
I’m actually a lover of many genres so long as the writing style is good. Fantasy, Urban Fantasy, Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Romance…even the occasional Horror. But like rarrr scary things horror not ooga booga gore horror.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
What is with this one thing stuff? I can’t choose one unless it’s like Coke versus Mountain Dew. I’m passionate about animal rescue, my family, and video games. Order not indicative of importance. (It’s totally the video games.)

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
I’m a gamer, hardcore. I live on Final Fantasy 14. LIVE. Liiiiiive. I also do things like cross stitching, crocheting, horseback riding, violin lessons, and say things like “Stop that!” like a freaking parrot to my kids.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?

Joy explores her edge play fantasy of forced seduction with an ex-military man turned horse rescuer.

Thank you so much for having me, despite my crazy butt and weird responses. I do hope any readers who lasted this long into my interview will give the box set a try because some of those stories (yep, I got a naughty sneak peek at some!) are hot, hot, HOT! And if you snorted liquid out your nose from laughing, I’m not taking blame for that. I totally warned you not to.

I clicked the computer off without responding to that. How was I supposed to? I’d tried to dominate him, flat out. The man had effectively turned the situation around to his advantage. As much as it chaffed, it also thrilled me. Maybe I’d well and truly met my match. But would I give in to his command?

Knowing time was of the essence, I darted to the bathroom and took a shower. The idea of going to dinner wreaking of barn, antiseptic, and cleaning agents didn’t appeal to me. I was sure it wouldn’t exactly incite desire in my dinner date either. Then again, he’d seemed perfectly at home in the barn. Normally, I would have enjoyed my little friend I had stashed in the shower, but I’d set a pretty restrictive time limit so the vibrator would have to wait…again.

“If I don’t get some kind of action before this night is over, by his hand or mine, I’m going to scream,” I grumbled to myself as I towel-dried my hair.

I picked out a cute little sundress that fell just past my knees. A date was a date, after all. When it came time to slip my panties on, I hesitated. Would he really spank me in the parking lot? How would he know if I didn’t wear them? Maybe I should wear them, then decide over dinner whether they stayed after I had a chance to get an idea of his personality.

Yes, that’s what I’d do. I would wear the damn things, and see if he was even worth taking them off for.

Paramedic partners keeping paranormal secrets!

Paramedic partners Jack Grady and Rosie D'Angelo have paranormal secrets. Jack can see ghosts. Rosie can heal with her hands. Despite Rosie's trust issues and Jack's bad blonde jokes, the heat between them is undeniable. A killer forces them to reveal their secrets putting their careers and their romance on the line.
Amy Lee Burgess is ruled by two rescued dachshunds, who graciously allow her to write about dragons, wolf shifters, vampires, gargoyles, and the occasional contemporary couple in her free time. When she’s not writing, she’s taking long walks in the woods(with the dogs, of course), exploring her new neighborhood in Apex, North Carolina (also with the dogs), and exploring farmers markets and other places around town (sometimes with the dogs).

You can find her @amyleeburgess on Twitter or on Facebook. You can also reach her at amyleeburgess99@gmail.com. Don’t be shy!

Hi! Thank you so much for the opportunity to talk with you and share my story!

Tell us about your title featured in this set:

My novella, Vital Signs, is about two paramedics who keep paranormal secrets from each other and the world. Jack Grady can see ghosts – but only ghosts who need him to find their hidden corpses. He gets into lots of trouble doing this as you can imagine since only he can see the ghosts, and nobody can figure out how he knows where to look.

Rosie D’Angelo can heal with her hands. She’s freaked out several of her former partners with this ability, and now keeps it to herself and thinks she’s a freak. She’s afraid to tell her new partner, Jack, what she can do because she doesn’t want to destroy their growing attraction.

Of course events conspire so that they both need their powers to help save each other!

I was inspired to write about paramedics because I absolutely love the old tv show, Emergency. In fact, Jack Grady and Rosie D’Angelo have the same initials as the paramedic partners in the show – John Gage and Roy Desoto.

This novella took approximately one month to write – one really fun month! I wanted a medical title for this novella and Vital Signs covers it on many levels. When you read the story, I think you will agree.

Tell us something about yourself:
I was born in Manchester, Connecticut, but I’ve moved around a lot since. New Orleans was home for nine years until Hurricane Katrina drove me to Houston, Texas. I stayed in Houston for eleven years until I got laid off from my gas & oil industry day job.

Now I live in Apex, North Carolina. I’m still exploring my new surroundings, but it is incredibly beautiful here. What a shocking change from Houston!

Tell us about your writing process:
I like to plan my novels in my head while I’m trying to fall asleep and just after I wake up. I do most of my best plotting between the sheets! I write every day for at least two hours no matter how unmotivated I might feel. Routine really helps!

What is your favorite genre to read?
Paranormal romance is my current favorite genre at the moment. I also love mystery and horror.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Helping animals! I adopted two dachshunds from Dachshund Rescue of Houston, and they changed my life. I ended up fostering after that, and I have learned so much from these rescue dogs. I can’t wait to find a day job here in North Carolina so I can foster again. You can’t save every dog, but you can save them one at a time!

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Playing with my dogs and exploring my new territory. Oh, and reading and watching Netflix.
If someone who hasn’t read any of your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
He can see ghosts. She can heal with her hands. They can’t tell anybody, but when a killer threatens to tear them apart, secrets must be exposed!

Thank you for allowing me to share my story with you today. I hope you enjoy all the fantastic stories in Coming in Hot!

Here we go again! A familiar mixture of compassion and resignation flowed over Jack Grady as he watched the ghost stumble onto the edge of the highway. The figure held solid as any mortal man, but every hair on the back of Jack’s neck rose, alerting his special senses. His tingling nerves paired with the fact no one on the scene noticed the blood-drenched man shambling on the road proved this was no mortal.

The ghostly face dripped blood. Scalp lacerations always bled like a bitch. However, more than a head wound plagued this particular ghost. His left arm dangled uselessly, bone protruding through the skin at the wrist. Phantom blood spattered, then evaporated, on the shoulder of the road as he advanced toward Jack. His face twisted as he reached out his good hand imploringly. He dragged one leg, the jeans shredded and bloodied. The gaping wound in his stomach had probably killed him, Jack figured, as he watched him lunge closer. Punctured by something. A tree branch? The edge of the SUV’s door? Something sharp. His mouth moved but no sound emerged. Not close enough yet or Jack wasn’t concentrating hard enough.

The ghost stared at the wreckage of the SUV slewed sideways on the shoulder of the highway. The mashed-up front end steamed. Jack kept a wary eye out for fire even though Rico and Duke were hosing it down with foam. Fire had a way of erupting, especially when mixed with gasoline.

Jack’s partner, Rosie D’Angelo, knelt by the side of a bloody woman, taking her vitals, which she relayed by field phone to Dr. Winchester at Fairhaven Hospital. Jack glanced down the highway. No sign of the ambulance yet. A police cruiser blocked the two-lane highway, holding back traffic. Several people milled about outside their cars, craning their necks trying to see the carnage. Lookiloos. Jack grimaced. Thanks to human nature, people gawked at car crashes, but that didn’t make their morbid fascination any less disgusting.

The second car, the one that had been traveling the wrong way, lay flipped upside down on the opposite side of the highway. Two shaken college kids stood nearby. The girl, wrapped in a blanket, wept as she swayed back and forth. The boy, the driver, was taking a Breathalyzer test administered by one of the police officers. From the way he tried so hard to stay balanced, he wouldn’t pass. Stupid. Who got drunk at four in the afternoon? College kids and alcoholics. Jesus.

“Help me!” The ghost’s voice floated into Jack’s head. The dead people Jack saw all had one thing in common. Their bodies needed finding. Some of them knew they were dead and led him to their final resting places. Others, like Jack suspected of this ghost, needed help to find their bodies so they could accept their deaths. Telling someone they were dead sucked.

She’s just what the doctor ordered...
Workaholic, Nicola Mills is fine burying herself in spreadsheets for her job as a Risk Assessment Manager for an airline. That’s perfect because it helps her avoid thinking about the tragic death of her husband five years ago. In his will, he made one seemingly impossible request that she’s neglected to fulfill. After all, it means traveling halfway across the globe to Australia. It’s only when her boss forces her to take some time off that she’s able to carry out her mission.

When she’s injured in a freak accident in the Australian outback, she winds up in the clinic of the world’s most condescending doctor. The two of them butt heads from the moment they meet. Too bad he’s so hot!

Doctor Leif Connors has had his fill of the corporate rat race and the manipulative relationships that come with it. After a devastating breakup years ago, he’s chosen to live a solitary existence in his remote clinic. He has little respect for people, and even less regard for the overbearing tourists traipsing through his native country. When Nicola ends up in his care, he places her in the same category as every other privileged Yank he’s ever met. But once he learns the true purpose of her trip, he looks at her in a new light. He wonders if the cure for what ails him might be love down under.
Chanta Jefferson Rand is an Emma Award winning Debut Author of the Year, a multi-published, best-selling author of sizzling-hot romance, and the former host of The Chanta Rand Show. An avid reader of all genres, she stepped onto the scene in 2010 with her first published historical romance, Pharaoh's Desire.

In 2016, she was appointed Chairperson of the Diversity Committee for Romance Writers of America (RWA), with the mission of increasing the awareness of diversity in romance.

The author of over twenty-five novels, Chanta is a history junkie, a Walking Dead fan, and a recovering shoe addict. She never met a stiletto she didn't like! If you still want more, check her out at www.ChantaRand.com or email her at Chanta@chantarand.com.

Remember: You can't expect any sizzle...if you don't turn up the heat!

Thank you for giving me the chance to talk about handsome Australian doctor, Leif Connors, and the American tourist, Nicola Mills, that he falls head over stethoscope for! Love Down Under is a romantic comedy sprinkled with witty dialogue and steamy sex.

Tell us about your title featured in this set:
My story is called Love Down Under. You won’t believe how it came to fruition. A friend of mine won a trip through her employer to Australia. She works for an airline, but she hasn’t taken a vacation in over 5 years. I said, “Wouldn’t it be awesome if you went to Australia and met a hot doctor there?” She replied, “Yeah! You could call it Going Down Under.” The title was supposed to be a double entendre—my friend’s mind is just as dirty as mine. But I changed the title to Love Down Under at the last minute. That’s truly how the book came into being!

Tell us something about yourself:
I’m a military brat who grew up in Germany. I’ve made Texas my permanent home. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Finance, but I never got to utilize the darn thing. So, when I got laid off in 2008, instead of going immediately back to another boring job that sucked the creative juices from me, I went on Unemployment and wrote 2 books in 6 months. That started on my journey as a published author. I’m married to my soul mate of 11 years. He’s my biggest fan. In fact, the story of how we met could be a book too!
Tell us about your writing process:
I’m a Plant-ser who can write anywhere. I start out as a plotter, completing a high-level outline of each chapter of my book. I call this the skeleton or the bones. Once I’ve created the bones, I use Dragon dictation software to dictate all the “meat.” Then, I send the book to my editor(s) so I can publish it.

What is your favourite genre to read?
Yikes! That’s like asking a woman to only choose ONE pair of shoes to take on vacation! Anything historical, romantic comedies, kickass heroines, and apocalyptic stories. What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
History and getting the details right.
When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Collect comic books (featuring characters of color and strong heroines), indulge my obsession with The Walking Dead, and shop for shoes—because you can never have enough pairs.

If someone who hasn’t read any your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Crocodile Dundee meets Gray’s Anatomy. My headstrong heroine goes on a mission to the Great Barrier Reef where meets a hot Australian doctor with a disdain for foreigners. The two fight their attraction for each other, but realized all along, they were meant for Love Down Under.

Thank you for taking the time to get to know me and my characters. I hope you love reading Love Down Under as much I enjoyed writing it!

When he stalked toward her and stopped within one foot of her nose, her heart slammed against her ribcage. She stared into a pair of sinfully beautiful eyes. Were they aqua? Turquoise? She couldn’t pinpoint the color. She only knew they were doing a damn good job of melting her panties. The lashes that framed his eyes were full and lush, bordered by dark blonde eyebrows that reminded her of the wheat fields where she grew up in The Plains area of Texas. They had just the right amount of sculpt. Not too manscaped. Not too Grizzly Adams.

Her gaze followed the bridge of his long, aquiline nose to where it flared into broad nostrils. Light blonde stubble peppered his upper lip and chin. She’d always thought the five o’clock shadow was sexy, but this barely-there goatee was a turn-on, too. The only thing wrong was the set of full lips that dipped into a frown of disapproval.

“Woman, you’re in the outback. In the middle of nowhere. This is Far Northern Queensland, Australia. Over one hundred and seventy-six thousand square kilometers of land, carpeted with desert flowers and the occasional wallaby. There is no taxi coming out here. There is no hotel shuttle. We barely have running water. I just emptied the compost toilet this morning. I’ll show you how to do it if you like.”

She gasped. “You cannot be serious!”

A glint of challenge sparked in his eyes. “Oh, but I am.”

“I’m your patient, not your servant. I refuse to do chores while you keep me here against my will.”

“You expect me to be your doctor and your errand boy? Typical Yank.” Before she could retort, he grasped her uninjured hand and turned it over in his. “Looks like you’ve never done a hard day’s work in your life, sweet’art.”

“That’s where you’re wrong. What I do is extremely challenging. Millions of lives are in my hands.”

“Oh, are you a doctor as well?”

“No, I work for an airline.”

     “Are you a pilot?”

“No.” She snatched her hand from his. Why did everyone always assume people who worked for an airline were pilots? “I’m a Risk Assessment Manager.”

His eyes narrowed. “What the hell is that?”

“A statistician who determines potential hazards and outcomes.”

“I thought you said you save lives.”

“I said millions of lives are in my hands. I calculate risks and the probability of dying and flight patterns and all that stuff. You wouldn’t understand.” He chuckled. His laugh would have been nice if it weren’t so condescending. “You find that amusing?”

“No one can really calculate risk. It’s either gonna happen or it ain’t gonna happen. That’s a waste of a salary to me. How much they pay you to do that anyway?”

     “None of your business!”

“You say that a lot. Is it your mantra or something?”

“I don’t need a mantra. When it comes to you, I need a muzzle.”

“Careful, lady. You don’t want to tangle with a man who has enough tranquilizer to put a full-grown kangaroo down for a nap.”

She scowled. “You have the worst bedside manner of any doctor I’ve ever met.”

“And you’re the worst patient I’ve ever had.”

     “Finally, we agree on something.”

Hey everyone! Check it out! Blood Lust (Book #1 in the Pink Rhinestone Tiara Series) has been nominated for the 2016 Summer Indie Book Awards, in the paranormal genre!

2016 Summer Indie Book Awards!

The cold of winter is setting in, at least for those of us in the northern Hemisphere of the world. But we at Metamorph Publishing aren’t letting that get us down! We’re already looking forward to a sizzling summer, and we’re here to announce our first annual Indie Book Awards! You heard that right, a summer book awards! The event officially begins on January 1st of each year, and nominations will be accepted through midnight CST on August 31st each year. Voting will begin on September 1st and end on September 10th each year.
“What’s the big deal,” you ask? “There are all kinds of contests out there.” And you’re right, there are hundreds, probably thousands of book awards. But many of them are only for unpublished authors, or authors who only write in certain narrow genres, or for authors who have never published before in a particular genre. Plus, there are plenty of them that charge an entry fee, some of which are prohibitive to authors who publish independently, without the backing of a large and powerful publishing house.
So, we’re hoping to do something different with the Summer Indie Book Awards! Entry is free, and nominations will be accepted from any indie or small-press author, regardless of their current published or non-published state, or what genre they write in. We are accepting donations of print or e-books, author swag or novelty items (bookmarks, pens, keychains, etc.), but donation is not required for nomination. We’re taking nominations from authors as well as from readers, and authors can nominate their own books; we only ask that authors who do so also nominate a fellow indie author.

Nominations can be made using this form: http://goo.gl/forms/T1L8sQJGVx, while donations can be made at: http://goo.gl/forms/6DkAK4MeqI.

Feel free to join up with the event on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/events/1099924726693772, and like the official Facebook page of the Summer Indie Book Awards at https://www.facebook.com/summerindiebookawards.

You can also sign up for the newsletter at: http://eepurl.com/bL43cf so you can stay up to date with all the latest news!

In the pinned post of the Facebook event, you’ll find these links, along with links to a Google Drive folder where you can look and see who’s already been nominated! And any author who is nominated will have access to an official contest nominee badge, that they can use on their book covers or any promotional media, if they so desire.

Winners in each genre will receive a prize (hopefully we’ll get enough donations for this), beginning with the 1st place winners. If we get enough prizes donated, we’ll go next to 2nd place winners, and then to 3rd place. Regardless of the prizes, winners will get a high-quality winner badge, stating their place and the genre of the book. These will be of high enough resolution for authors to use on their print books, if they want to!

But it’s not only the winners that will benefit from the Summer Indie Book Awards! All nominated authors will have the potential to reach hundreds, if not more, of new readers (readers often have a preferred genre, and while they’re voting for their favorite author, will come across others they may not have tried yet), and reach a huge new audience through the social media forums! And best of all, it’s meant to have fun, to reach out and network with other authors, potentially forming long-lasting relationships. And readers will benefit from having a wealth of new books in front of them, as well as a vast amount of new stories to immerse themselves in.
Though we’re using Facebook and other social media as a platform to reach more authors and readers, none of these social media outlets are affiliated with the awards.

They are hosted strictly by Metamorph Publishing.

She is a wife, mother of three, grandmother of one beautiful baby girl, and momma to the most precious cat ever!

Hi! Thanks for the invite to talk about my new release Operation Twilight in the Coming In Hot medical romance boxed set. Thrilled to be here!
Tell us about your title featured in this set:
My contribution to the boxed set is titled Operation Twilight and is an urban fantasy zombie medical romance. (Yes, I’m crazy about The Walking Dead!) I brainstormed the title based on a combination of the cover art and the medical romance call for submissions (thus “operation”).

Tell us something about yourself:I’m originally from Missouri, although I’ve lived all over the Midwest—South Dakota, Missouri, Texas, Iowa, Illinois, Minnesota, Wisconsin, and Florida. (I think that’s it!) I’m a registered nurse and have worked in ICU, recovery, medical-surgical, oncology, and pediatrics. I’m married with three grown kids and I have one new granddaughter. (Love that baby girl!)

Tell us about your writing process:
Honestly, I don’t have a specific process. I just write when I write and when the words come to me. I’ve grown to be easily distracted and forgetful over the thirteen-plus years I’ve been a published author (under a retired pseudonym), so I have to write it when it’s on the tip of my brain.

What is your favourite genre to read?
Depends on what day you ask. ;D But I could safely say contemporary and paranormal romance.

What would you say is the one thing you are most passionate about?
Besides family, writing, and reading, I’m very into politics…but you won’t get the details out of me. J

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Read, go for walks, bike ride, and keep up with my fave TV and Netflix series.

If someone who hasn’t read any of your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
Here’s a short blurb for Operation Twilight by Josie Jax:

OR nurse Wylee Quartermaine knows she should be saving lives, but instead, she’s adding to the horror and carnage of the zombie outbreak. With the apocalypse now in motion, people are dying all over Twilight Cove, Georgia, not once, but twice—and the second time is by her hand.

Operation Twilight by Josie Jax

[Unedited excerpt]

Gabe had never experienced such panic in his life. Not even when the damn rotters were after him.

He examined her ankle and confirmed the marks were most likely from a small human. It gutted him to imagine her as one of them—gurgling, shuffling along with spittle trailing from her mouth. He thrust a hand through his hair and forced down the need to vomit.

What should he do? She’d been bitten. If he had any balls at all, he’d kill her to prevent further spread of the disease.

But goddamn, just look at her…

Long layers of blonde hair framed her heart-shaped face and emphasized her slightly too-wide mouth. Stunning crystal-blue eyes said “make me come” with a single bat of her dark lashes. And those naked curves, that sexy petite body. He shook his head.

     How could he eliminate her?

He loved her and wanted her to become his wife.

But the possibility of her feeding on flesh, killing more people, presented too much of a risk. He was pissed at this crazy epidemic—and pissed at himself for not being able to figure out what the hell was going on here in Twilight Cove.

What he did know from recent experience was that people usually turned within hours of being infected.

He glanced at his wristwatch, pulled in a deep breath, and swallowed against the growing thickness in his throat.

Two hours. It had been approximately two short hours.

Allowing her to become one of them just wasn’t going to happen in his lifetime. It was time for action.

“Get dressed.” He snatched some clothes off the floor and tossed them at her.

She blinked, looking more gorgeous and adorable than ever with her luscious mouth hanging open in stunned confusion. Desire stirred in his loins and damn near made him forget the seriousness of their situation, and the kneejerk reaction to dive into bed with her suddenly became the hardest thing he’d ever had to resist in his life.

     “But, Gabe, I wanted to—”

     “Wylee.”

“What?” She lifted her chin in defiance and clutched the wad of clothes to her bare breasts.

He groaned and jammed on his jeans, more to keep his cock in check than anything. “I said get dressed. Now.”

For centuries witches, shifters, vampires and the like have been living alongside humans in shadow and silence ...
Feline shifter, Aleah Macleod, is excited to start work as a member of a supernatural research team—until she meets William Wolfe. The alpha shifter makes life on the team miserable for her, and she’s not sure why. As the pressure intensifies and the stakes increase, the only person she can turn to is Wyatt Masterson, a shifter she finds she has more in common with than she thought.      In addition to being a highly sought-after researcher, Wyatt Masterson has the ability to shift into the rare crocodile alpha. He tries to focus on the research, but finds himself distracted by Aleah Macleod. Not only does his respect grow for the sexy shifter, but so does his attraction. When she asks for help against William Wolfe, he readily agrees, but he doesn’t realize it will have devastating consequences.

Elvira Bathory is a succubus who preys on the strongest of men. In her 36 years on this Earth, she has seen some of the most carnal acts of passion committed by man, some she has caused herself. Having spent so much time consuming the energy that came from other couples enjoying each other's company, she decided that it was time for her to enjoy someone's company on a more permanent basis. Traveling the world, she chose to settle in a small town in the state known as New Mexico. Still in search of that perfect man, she spends her nights inventing him from her mind onto the pages of her steamy erotic stories.
Hello! Thank you for this opportunity to talk about the Coming in Hot Boxed Set which includes my steamy short story Blood Bio-Med. I can’t wait to help my readers get to know me better!
Tell us about your title featured in this set:
Blood Bio-Med was a bit difficult for me to write as I had never written a medical piece before. But I had lots of help from the other authors in the set, answering any questions I had and all that jazz. The title was actually a fellow author’s idea as I was drawing a blank as to what this piece should be titled. That’s one of the amazing things about working in a box set with other authors. There is always someone there to help you if you need it. This piece actually took me a little longer than most of my work due to be slightly out of my comfort zone ;-)

Tell us something about yourself:
I’m a 38 year old housewife with five kids and an amazingly patient and understanding husband. It is a bit difficult to write during the summer as all the kids are home but that would be where the amazingly patient and understanding hubby comes in

Tell us about your writing process:
I get most of my inspiration from pictures I have seen; though that is by no means the only way I get my inspiration. I LOVE to write about things that haven’t been written about much, if at all. My thing is shifters that turn into animals I have never even heard of until I do my research (and I do A LOT of research for any of my work). Sometimes I do research WHILE writing the piece depending on what the piece is about. This piece consisted of lots of research before and during the writing of it.

What is your favourite genre to read?
I love all genres but I will always reach for the romance novels first.

What would you say is the one thing are you most passionate about?
Ending cruelty to animals and children. I have been doing all that is in my power to do this.

When you are not writing, what do you like to do?
Read, color (yup color lol), dance, sing, draw. Spend time with the hubby and kiddos.

If someone who hasn’t read any of your books asked you to describe your story in this set (the elevator pitch!) what would you say?
This piece is about a young doctor, who happens to be a shifter, that has been trying to find out what makes supernatural beings different than human beings. She is very passionate about discovering this huge secret and when she is asked to become part of a medical team that is doing just that she couldn’t be more thrilled. She discovers romance along the way with another shifter on the team of six as well as strife. There is a huge love triangle with Aleah being in love with Wyatt while Wyatt is in love with her (the ultimate doctor couple) and a fellow team member, William, wanting Aleah all for himself.

Thank you so much for having me! It’s been a blast telling everyone about myself and Blood Bio-Med, my contribution to the Coming in Hot Boxed Set!
The day after the phone call found Aleah in the waiting room of the fifth floor of New Hope Hospital anxiously waiting for Dr. Morgan to make an appearance and explain what it was he needed from her. She remembered taking a seat closest to the door she had entered and looking around the room, noticing there were four other people sitting in the room with her. Every one of them seemed to be feeling the same mix of emotions that she was: anxiety and nerves. Her palms were sweating as she watched two of the four people in the room fidget in their seats. A third person stood and began pacing the length of the small room, long strides eating up the carpet in his need to calm his nerves. The fourth person, a woman, was taking deep breaths as she slowly rocked with her eyes closed.      They stood in unison, with the exception of the man who was already standing, as a six foot one, silver haired older man walked into the waiting room.      The Director of Supernatural Bio-Medicine smiled at each of them in turn, “Hello fellow doctors. If you would just follow me, please.”      He turned and led the way down a small hallway, stopping in front of one of the closed doors then ushering the five of them into one of the conference rooms and waited until they were all seated to begin what could only be called a presentation.      Dr. Morgan began by telling them the reason they were called together then introduced them all by their specialties, “I’m glad to see that almost all of you were able to be here. There was to be one more of you, but it seems he’s not going to make it. Shall we get started?”       Everyone nodded their agreement and waited to hear what the doctor was going to say next.      “Without further ado, allow me to tell you why you’re here. I have hand-picked each of you for your specialties and your reputations in those specialties. As you may already know, this hospital has allowed for a new type of study to be conducted in honor of the paranormal being outed. That study is Supernatural Bio-Medicine and they have appointed me the Director. Now the reason you five have been called is so we can appease the humans, and to make sure that the supernaturals are receiving the proper care. In order to do that I have need of a team. Before I get into all of the details concerning that let me introduce each of you. It might make things a little clearer for all involved.”      Dr. Morgan placed his hands on the conference table and leaned closer to the young doctors eager to be on his team, “Mr. Alfred Barstow here will be our Rheumatologist making sure that, should the need arise, we are able to help all paranormal beings with any joint, muscular and skeletal issues. He will also be helping aide in the study of these areas so that we can continue to learn everything we can about all paranormal beings and help the humans to understand that knowledge as well.”      Aleah remembered her attention had been drawn from the doctor to a tall, dark skinned man with a crew cut and easy smile to her left as he stood and waved, “Hello everyone.”      As Alfred returned to his seat Dr. Morgan turned his attention to a petite, light skinned woman with wavy blonde, shoulder length hair and a slightly upturned nose, “Ms. Deanna Bates came highly recommended for our Immunologist to aide us in helping those supernaturals with severe allergies. Of course we also need to study this area of medicine to discover how supernatural beings can have allergies, but that is a discussion for another time.”      The woman in question had her turn of standing and addressing everyone in the room, “Happy to be here.”      Dr. Morgan watched as Deanna returned to her seat then continued to introduce the final members in the room, “This is Mr. Wyatt Masterson and he will be our Endocrinologist helping us study the glands and hormones of all the supernatural community. We might be comparing these areas of the body with the humans to see what makes us so different from them.”      There was a collective gasp that had the Director holding his hand up, “There’s no need for you to be alarmed as I assure you that there will be no white room with bright lights and no paranormals being tied down to a sterile table for these studies. No giant microscope watching your every move. This is merely a way to show the humans how safe we are, how they won’t ‘catch what we have’ and become supernatural themselves; that we are a unique case as stated six months ago.”      The room let out a sigh of relief as a whole, and the man who had been introduced before the bombshell of studying their own had been dropped gave a slow blink. Aleah remembered how her attraction to him was almost instantaneous. She watched as he stood in one lithe movement and took in his appearance. He had milky white skin, shocking white shaggy hair and stunning pale blue eyes. Her heart began to race as his eyes met hers and he licked his lips, getting ready to speak.      “Hi! Hey! Sorry I’m so late. Traffic was horrible!”      A man in his late thirties came rushing into the room, interrupting the Endocrinologist and jerking Aleah’s attention to the door. His short sandy blonde hair was sticking up in all directions and his clothes were rumpled, giving her the impression that he had just rolled out of bed. His deep tan showed that he wasn’t afraid to be in the sun, but the way he moved through the room set Aleah’s teeth on edge. She’d never met someone that made her go on the defensive just by the way they looked but that was exactly how she had felt the minute her gaze fell upon him.
